When I sit and think about all the marketers that have asked me to explain Page Rank and or Search Algorithm Changes. I cant help to think. Why not just Google it? Then once I did, I can see how the lots of search engine optimization misinformation can help play a role in some pretty bad choices for SEO. So I will do my best. Here are just some of the new google 2017 algorithm changes that have come out.
Major 2017 google changes seen here There are more than 27 million businesses in the United States. Each year, approximately half a million new companies open their doors. At the same time, half a million businesses close their doors each year due to their inability to keep up with the modifiers to the algorithm. Competition is fierce and a small margin could mean the difference between success and failure. Small businesses will have the most challenges with the new changes. Local SEO especially. Most new business owners believe that they have a superior product. They think that all they have to do is to put their product on the market and they will immediately become successful. However, no matter how good your product is, it has no chance of selling if your customers do not where to find it. For internet business, this means ensuring that people can find your website when they conduct a keyword search.
Search Engine Results
Search engines use algorithms to return listings that are relevant to your keyword. For example, you want to make a video search for a specific song. The search engine will return a list of links to videos that contain the same names. The results of your video search will appear as a list of links. These lists are SERPS, or search engine results pages.
SERPS are the results returned when you conduct a search using a keyword. There are three types of SERPS: user’s query, organic SERP listings and paid SERP listings. A user query generates a search when you enter a keyword into a search engine. An organic SERP listing generates when the search engines algorithm determines that a website is relevant to the search. A paid listing is an advertisement generated by a website that has paid to have its link show when user queries contain specific keywords.
PageRank Results and Scoring
One of the most well-known search engines is Google. In 1996, Larry Page and Sergey Brin developed a website analytics process they called Page Link. Page Link, named after Larry Page, uses analytics to determine the popularity of a link. The search engine then sorts the results and returns the most popular links at the top of the page. The most vital part of PageRank’s algorithm, is the backlink count. Backlinks are the links received by a web node from another web node. PageRank then uses relevancy SEO analytics to determine the value of the backlink. For example, a link that comes from an authoritative website is worth more than one that just has a few key words in common.
The old way-Who links to you and who you link to matters.
The new way- Time on page + Time on Site + Bounce rates ( QUICK TIP – Quality Score, yup you can use this to see what google thinks of your pages)
Internet marketers use search engine optimization, or SEO, to boost their backlinks. This in turn boosts their relevancy SEO. The hope is that this will move their webpage higher on the search list. While most business use white hat, here are some simple small business SEO techniques, some have managed to manipulate PageRank by purchasing high PageRank links. Google has stated that they will devalue any webpage found manipulating the google this way. A better way of increasing your internet presence is by the use of white hat SEO techniques. These techniques include keyword placement such as putting the keyword in their title or header. The search engine will then find the keywords and include your webpage in the list. To push your site higher up on the list, it helps to have other web nodes linked to your site. However, the best way to make sure that your site ends up high on the list is to ensure that it has quality content. So if you want to read the entire citation order. Feel free.
