Alternative Seo Methods

It is possible to try all known SEO methods and still find that none of them work for you. Even if you have a great website with superb search engine optimization and thousands of backlinks that are relevant, you could still find that your website simply isn’t ranking within the first 1,000 results.  Of course, this is normal for a new website but after a while, your homepage should at least be indexed and thus be present within the search results.  This can be really frustrating, especially since nobody can really tell you what is wrong with your website.  Most of the time though, a simple SEO trick can help you to discover what is causing this ranking problem and how it can be fixed.

1.Make Sure The Site Is Indexed

The first thing you should do is check to see whether or not your website is indexed.  You can do this in Google Webmaster Tools.  If it isn’t indexed, you can ask them to reconsider your website. First, read over the guidelines that are set by Google and make sure your website is in compliance with all the guidelines. As long as your website complies with Google’s Webmaster guidelines it should be indexed within one to two weeks.  However, if your website is indexed but it isn’t present in the search results, more than likely this is due to duplicate or similar content, which means that your text or some phrases from another website are the same as the ones that are on yours.  In order to find out if this is true, you can use Copyscape.com.  If you find at least one web page that has duplicate content, then you know that this is the issue.  However, if you don’t find anything, it is possible that Google may have still found some. Re-evaluate the content on your website. If you don’t know where it came from and the website was purchased with the content, you should consider new content on your website.

2.Fixing Pages To Improve Ranking

Regardless of what you may find, there is actually a really simple solution to this issue.  For each web page that isn’t ranked according to your expectations, you will need to create some new content.  This means getting rid of all of your old content and writing the completely new text for the web page that isn’t getting ranked.  Whenever you sit down to write the text, make sure that you don’t use any sentences from any other web page. When you are hiring a copywriter, make sure they have access to the text you want to change so that they don’t duplicate any of it accidentally. Make sure that all of the content that you add is unique.  This is important because if your website is ranking low because of the content, now is your opportunity to get pushed up in the search results.  Give this new content a week or two but make sure that you keep an eye on it.  Most of the time you will see a major change in your ranking.  If this works, you will want to repeat the process for all of your web pages that don’t rank well.  However, if you don’t see any change, then more than likely there wasn’t anything wrong with your old content.  Regardless of what happens though, this will help you to always remember that unique quality content is a very important SEO technique.  So, make sure that you always write your own phrases, descriptions, reviews, and articles. If you can’t, hire someone who can.
